Recent travels have been good for my stash.
I had so much fun at Fabric Temptations in Arcata, CA, one afternoon last week that I had to go back the next day.
My first day’s shopping is in the green bag, the next in the pretty red paisley. Aren’t they great store gifts for spending more than I probably should have? I kind of sweet-talked my way into the second one; my mom collects totes, and I didn’t want to share mine.
Day one included some old school Tula Pink from Neptune and Plume. I also picked up some script fabrics that I absolutely adore. I feel a little like Goldilocks when I shop for texty script fabrics: this one’s too big, that one’s too small. Well, this one from Moda’s Basics by Basic Grey is a perfect fit for me. I got three yards of the white and two of the parchment color.
The next day the rest of the Basics were in the remnant bin. Since I’d researched and realized I couldn’t get them anywhere else anymore, I went ahead and bought the 2.5 yard remnants at a little discount. I got more plume in green and pink for my new friend Ella at Throw A Wrench in the Works. On an impulse, I snagged two Amy Butler fat quarters of Noveau Trees from Midwest Modern.
My last bit of shopping took me to Ikea. I really like their lightweight cotton for quilt backs. They’re 59″ wide, which makes for easy backing on baby and throw quilts, and easy piecing on bigger things.
