I’ve decided it’s been five years.

Botany Quilt in Chair

And now it’s complete.

The Botany Quilt

It’s halfway decent piecing, but it’s not the prettiest quilting. The binding might be a little dark, but it’s what I had on hand.  Putting all of that aside, I’m overjoyed that it’s already been put to use by me and the pup for some good Sherlock-watching snuggle time.

Botany Quilt back

I’m beginning to tire of my quilt backs.  I’ve been reluctant to “use up” fabrics from my stash on the backs of quilts, but I’m bored with photographing those numbers. I used to be so excited about them!  Too much of a good thing…

Botany Quilt label

Ah, but these labels. I never tire of them. I’m still so tickled every time I sew one into a binding.  It adds a feeling of “completeness” to the things I make.  And, it makes me feel a bit professional even when I’m anything but.

Have a GREAT weekend!  My inlaws are coming, and I’m one of the lucky ones that gets to honestly say (on my blog, no less!) that I enjoy visits from my inlaws.

Wow, I really love those colours! It looks super snuggly. 🙂

One day I might spring for some lovely quilt labels. For now, it’s calico and a fabric marker for me 🙂

I think your dark binding looks great! Your labels do look very professional – a simple, yet effective, finish.

I love the chocolatey brown in this! I get a little thrill when I see my tags sewn in too. 😉 I’ve never used those IKEA numbers even though I go look at them every time I head to the IKEA in Charlotte!

Does anyone have a charm pack or fat quarters or yardage of the Botany fabric that I could buy?  I need a little more to make a larger quilt than what I have.  Just enough to make about five blocks  12″ x 12″.  Thanks
