For April in the Love Circle of do. Good Stitches (a charity quilt block swap), Jacey suggested that we put together some scrappy string blocks.

It’s really nice to have some variation in bee blocks each month. My involvement in a few bees gives me an opportunity to think about different design questions – color, composition, pattern, etc. It also gives me the satisfaction of a tiny finish without actually going through the entire quilting process from beginning to end.

One thing I appreciate is that some blocks require lots of effort and others, like this one, go together so quickly. I get enjoyment from both processes, and these quick blocks were no exception.

Even though these paper pieced scrappy strings were quick and easy, there are tons of different options for assembling them. I can’t wait to see how Jacey puts them all together!
