I enjoyed Michelle Wilkie’s class at Spoonflower this past Sunday, and I thought I’d share my first block from her series. Sunday’s class covered 3 of the blocks in her 12 block modern sampler, and I believe she’ll be teaching 4 classes in total. All the blocks in the class are her original design.
For anyone who might not know, Spoonflower has built their business by finding ways for people to print and sell their own designs on fabric, wallpaper, decals and gift wrap. I’m lucky enough to live quite close to their facilities in Durham, NC, and they’ve been fantastic hosts for our local monthly Modern Quilt Guild meetings.
Yesterday’s class with Michelle was fantastic, and I’m looking forward to finishing my other blocks before the next installment sometime this sumer. At the end of the class series, I believe Michelle will be posting tutorials for all her blocks on the Spoonflower blog, and I’ll be sure to link to that when it’s available. In the meantime, if you’re local or willing to travel to Durham, follow Spoonflower’s blog to catch a spot in Michelle’s next class – my understanding is that you can drop in on any of the four classes without having taken the first!
