Sarah from Berry Barn Designs requested American HSTs for August’s round of bee blocks in the Stash Bee. Her color scheme references a little patriotic love with reds, blues, and low volumes.

I didn’t realize it until I was pulling fabric for these: I have almost no red in my stash. I actually used the only four reds from my fat eighth-fat quarter color stash. I’ve found a few large red scraps since making and mailing these blocks, but I’ll definitely need to do some shopping. Does anyone have a favorite place to shop for color bundles?

Sarah, I really enjoyed making these. I’m excited to see your living room family quilt come together!

My stash is the same way, or was. Then I started consciously buying more red, so it might be even stevens now (I’d have to tidy up to know for sure :D)  I know that Marmalade Fabrics and Pink Chalk (or maybe Pink Castle, I get them confused sometimes) regularly have color bundles and color clubs. I like Sew Fresh Fabrics for color bundles too. Especially since she’s local and I “know” her.

Thank you, Daisy! I am loving seeing all the blocks together so far… while initially resistant to the color scheme, it’s growing on me ; ) And just think of all the husband points I’ll have racked up! lol

Love the red, white and blue theme on this one!  I do the same thing and shop in colors. Many websites have an option to shop by color and that’s where I start looking.  Good luck on your red quest!  Finding great reds is no easy task 🙂
