This moth pillow came from random charm squares in my stash – plus some fussy cut moths from Patty Young’s Luna Moth in Jade.

Moth Pillow side

I’m pretty pleased with the look the faux suede backing adds.

Moth Pillow top

My mom picked it up from an upholstery sale ages ago. There was a giant grommet in the corner that I cut around, but otherwise, it sewed just like quilting cotton.

Moth Pillow Back

She was excited to have the suede leave her stash and get into a project, and I was tickled to try something new!

Your pillow looks great! My very first quilt was made with microfiber suede and burlap! (GASP!! haha) The microfiber suede looks SO cool when FMQed!! I used Isocord so it is shinier than cotton and it really looks like the top was embroidered. We won’t talk about the wrinkles (BIG wrinkles LOL) on the back 😉

What an impact beautiful fabrics, great sewing and interesting materials can make even with such a simple pattern.  Love it!
