It’s Friday.

I should post something I’ve made for a “Friday Finish,” but I really want to shout a very loud “THANK YOU” into the internet world for one of the most special gifts I’ve ever received.

New Baby Quilt

Nicole, Michelle, Becky, and Jen are all local ladies that I’ve gotten to know through sewing bees and the Triangle Modern Quilt Guild.

Goose

They got together and made blocks in my all-time favorite color combination: navy blue and pinkish coral.

Hourglass Block

These blocks have sweet novelty prints and other favorites like Umbrella Prints and Tula Pink.

Tula City Block

I love that there are recognizable bits throughout the quilt, like this block which looks like Michele from Factotum of Arts’ Phased Circles quilt.  (If you’re interested in a tutorial for the phased circles block, she has one on her blog!)

Michelle Block

All of the blocks are perfect for a baby quilt, but they don’t feel too babyish to me. I’m such a fan of sweet but not too cutesy.

Octopus Block

I had to let my toddler try it out on our last visit to his grandparents’. It definitely passed the snuggle test!

Grandaddy and Woody

There’s gorgeous Cloud 9 Fanfare Flannel foxes on the back. I LOVE IT!

New baby quilt back

A huge thank you has to go to Nicole from Mama Love Quilts. Everything she does is absolute perfection, and the quilting on this quilt is no exception. I’m delighted she was willing to put the quilt together and quilt it up for my next little one.

New Baby Quilt 2

I feel so blessed to have been thought of by these ladies!
