Several months ago in May, I attended the first class in Modern Sampler series with Michelle Wilkie at Spoonflower’s space in Durham.

Modern Quilt Block with Michelle Wilkie

I couldn’t get to the rest of the classes, and other projects got in the way of my finishing this fantastic design. This past weekend I needed a finish, and I decided to just quilt this block, bind it, and call it a mini.

I may be on a little bit of a “orphan-block-to-mini-quilt” kick. I’m enjoying it.

I believe Michelle has her last class in this Modern Quilt series coming up this weekend. She’ll cover the basics of finishing your quilts, and you don’t have to have participated in the earlier classes to attend!

Have a great weekend!

Your points look awesome! I love mini quilts.

Thanks for the comment on my blog about the orange quilt. To answer your question about the wool batting, yes, I was surprised about how hefty it was. It has a nice weight and is really warm.
