Blithe Quilt Top

There’s a new favorite around here.

New quilting arrangement

Her name is Blithe, but I kept thinking about carnival and the circus and parties with pendant flags as I pieced and quilted this project.

Bilthe Quilt

Fat Quarter Shop has teamed up with Art Gallery Fabrics to present to you, AGF Stitched with Kimberly, which offers one-of-kind free quilt patterns exclusively for Fat Quarter Shop. The Blithe Quilt is their latest release.

Fat Quarter Shop is offering a Blithe Quilt Kit in the pattern’s featured fabrics: Chalk and Paint by Sew Caroline. They also have an instructional video and something to help you paper piece your half square triangles.  Plus, if you’re in the market for thread, I know they stock tons of Aurifil.  I had a hard time choosing what I’d quilt with…

Picking out thread

The top is all Art Gallery Pure Elements. I backed this quilt with Sharon Holland’s Buoyant in Fog from her new Coastline collection, and I’ve picked out this Katarina Rochella Crossthread in Shadow from her Imprint collection for the binding.  I haven’t decided if I’ll do a little more quilting (with the 50 wt 2605 gray) or go ahead and bind. I think some of those larger gray triangles need some hand quilting to draw a little more attention…

Backing and binding fabrics for Blithe

Either way, I’m super excited to wrap up in this colorful new favorite before the weather here turns hot!

I want to send a big thank you to the AG Stitched with Kimberly team – I had a lot of fun with this quilt!

I love your colors! I like the dark background. It’s great for a guy! Did you use papers? I want to make this quilt the original way. I’m doing a HST QAL and I’m working on a HST quilt for my granddaughter. I hope to make this quilt sometime this year with Holly Taylor. You inspired me!!
